Install

One command, then your first lookup

The CLI ships as a single binary, so there is no runtime to install. Authenticate once in the browser, or with an API key in the environment for scripts and agents.

Commands

The whole API, one verb at a time

Each command maps to an API request and takes the same inputs, so what works in the terminal works in production.

  • Enrich from an email or a name

    rc enrich person --email or --first-name, --last-name and --company-domain, and rc enrich company --domain.

  • Fetch from a profile URL

    rc fetch person --url reads the cached profile; add --live for a fresh one, run as a job.

  • Check before you pay

    rc check person --url tells you whether a profile exists and when it was last updated, for free.

  • Search people and companies

    rc search people --title "Head of Sales" --country France. rc search fields people lists every filter.

  • Find emails and phone numbers

    rc contact email and rc contact phone start a contact job; rc task <id> --wait collects the result.

  • Work with lists

    rc lists add, rc lists export --out and quoted bulk enrichment with an explicit credit cap.

Process

How does it work?

From install to a scripted lookup.

  1. Install rc

    One command with the install script or Homebrew, or PowerShell on Windows.

  2. Authenticate

    rc auth login --browser on your machine, RC_API_KEY in scripts, CI and agents.

  3. Run and pipe

    Every command prints JSON when piped, ready for jq, a script or an agent.

CLI or MCP

Two ways to give an agent B2B data

Both call the same API and return the same data. They differ in who decides when to make the call.

How do I install the Reverse Contact CLI?

With Homebrew, run brew install visum-run/tap/rc. Without it, use the one-line install script for macOS and Linux, or the PowerShell command for Windows, both shown in the Install section of this page. The CLI is a single binary named rc: there is no runtime to install alongside it.

How does the CLI authenticate?

Run rc auth login --browser to approve the CLI from your browser, or pass an API key with rc auth login. In scripts and CI, set the RC_API_KEY environment variable instead, so no key is written to disk. rc auth status tells you which key is in use.

Is the CLI included in my plan?

Yes. MCP and CLI access are included on every plan, and each command is billed like the API request it makes. Checking whether a profile exists and listing the search filters are free. See pricing for the cost of each request.

Can an AI agent use the CLI?

Yes, and it was designed for it: output is JSON whenever it is piped, errors come back as JSON on stderr with a code and a hint, and exit codes separate usage, authentication, API and network errors. Install the agent skill with npx skills add visum-run/skills to teach a coding agent the commands and when to use each one.

Should I use the CLI or the MCP server?

The MCP server suits a conversational assistant such as ChatGPT or Claude that decides on its own when to look someone up. The CLI suits scripts, batch jobs and coding agents with a shell: it adds field projection, free existence checks, the full set of search filters, contact lookups and workspace lists.

Which platforms are supported?

macOS, Linux and Windows. The install script detects your system and verifies the download against its published checksum before installing it.
